During the COVID-19 pandemic, Osaka University of Human Sciences sought a way to move its annual student festival online while maintaining participation and engagement despite restrictions on in-person events.
Nekologic worked closely with the university to understand its requirements, provide design and technology recommendations, and develop a livestreaming Progressive Web Application for iOS and Android devices. The platform enabled students to access live events, festival content, and schedules directly from their mobile devices without requiring a native application download.
In addition to the technical implementation, we provided documentation and training to support the university's staff in operating the system. The event successfully reached students remotely over the two-day festival, and the platform remained in use afterwards as an archive of recorded content.
Following the success of the initial deployment, Nekologic returned the following year to update the design, resolve issues, and support a second edition of the online festival.
