Nekologic worked with the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature in Kyoto to develop the digital platform for the FEAST project, an initiative exploring wild food resources and foraging culture in Japan.

Built upon an existing WordPress installation, the project combined data management, mapping technology, and public engagement tools to make a large body of research data accessible and useful. The system was developed in two stages: firstly, the creation of administrative tools for importing, editing, exporting, and managing the underlying dataset, and secondly, the development of an interactive public-facing interface that allowed users to explore the information geographically.

The platform integrated mapping services to visualise foraging locations and related information, while custom tools within WordPress enabled researchers to manage and maintain the data efficiently. By combining geographic information with an accessible user interface, the system helped communicate research findings to both academic and public audiences.

By connecting research, data management, and user experience design, Nekologic produced practical tools for environmental and cultural research.
